The Department of Information Management began with a Master's Program in August 1996, an Undergraduate Program being introduced in August 1998. With an equal emphasis on theory and practice, the department enhances students' conceptual knowledge in these rapidly evolving fields, strengthens and enriches their information and communication skills, and provides exposure to current best practices in information and communication. Each academic year, the undergraduate program takes on 50 students (excluding overseas Chinese students and international students), the Master's Program taking 44. The Department of Information Management was established in 1996, taking in graduate students. Two years later, the undergraduate program was established, and in 2006, we started taking in EMIS students. Originally located in the General Education Building, the department was moved to the Third Building of the College of Science and Technology, with new computer labs, research labs, lecture halls, and classrooms, and moved to the newly constructed College of Management Building in 2007.
